Prayer Walk

HCOB will walk our community handing out "Free Gift" Lunches to our neighbors and offering to pray with them.

Volunteers Needed to make lunches, walk, and pray.

  • 10:00 AM – assembling lunches
  • 12:00 PM - Walking our Neighborhood.

Winchester Musica Viva In Concert

Winchester Musica Viva is an independent chamber choir in its 34th season of presenting the finest choral literature from all musical periods and styles to audiences throughout Virginia and neighboring states. The choir is comprised of professional level volunteer singers from many different vocations and backgrounds who share a love of choral music and a commitment to excellence in performance.  

WMV enjoys a widespread reputation for fine choral music, with three successful international tours and performances by invitation at events sponsored by such organizations as the Contemporary American Theatre Festival, the American Choral Directors’ Association, and the  Contemporary Music Festival to its credit. 

The ensemble is supported in part by The Marion Park Lewis Foundation for the Arts.

Mission Alive 2018!

Mission Alive 2018!, a conference sponsored by the Global Mission and Service program of the Church of the Brethren, will take place April 6-8 at Frederick (Md) Church of the Brethren. The theme is “A Gathering of God’s People…A Global Church of the Brethren,” seeking inspiration from Revelation 7:9.

The conference seeks to revitalize Church of the Brethren members’ interest, awareness and involvement in Global Mission programs and partnerships. This 2018 conference specifically explores how Brethren can live into the vision of a global church based on mutuality and relationship. For registration information, talk to Lester Boleyn and see the bulletin board in the west entrance.

Congregational Business Mtg & Lunch

The annual Fall Congregational  Business Meeting and Lunch will be held on November 3.   
In an effort to maximize the number of attendees,  meeting will NOW be held during the Sunday school hour.

It will begin with a continental breakfast in the Fellowship Hall at 9:45 AM.  
The 11:00 service will begin in the sanctuary immediately  following the conclusion of the meeting.

Community Thanksgiving Service

An ecumenical, interfaith service of thanks sponsored by the Hagerstown Area Religious Council (HARC) and hosted this year by John Wesley United  Methodist Church at 129 N. Potomac St..

This service is free and open to the public as we express our commonality in giving thanks.  A free will offering will be taken.  
 

A Local Taste of Autumn

The meal will be an assortment of autumn foods with plenty of pumpkin spice among other flavors for all!

The day also offers the opportunity to meet some of the staff and hear more about camp programs.
