The Hagerstown Church of the Brethren provides all the food to pack for Ruth Ann Monroe Primary School. Our own food pantry is on third floor and volunteers will do the packing there. The Mormon Church partners with us in providing backpacks at Ruth Ann Monroe Primary School, but they have their own food pantry. At present, we are packing 16 backpacks a week.
An entire list of needs is included in the weekly bulletin. When weekly food needs are posted, please be generous and help to keep this ministry alive. If you are unable to purchase food, monetary gifts are accepted. We will need both food and monetary gifts weekly.
Micah’s Backpack is a free ministry that helps children eat more healthy meals and snacks through a partnership between an elementary school and a local church. To give a monetary gift, please use a pew envelope and place your gift in the Offering, or mail it to the church. If you can help with this ministry or have questions, please contact Loyal Vanderveer.
