"Church in the Heart of the City with the City at Heart"
Continuing the work of Jesus. Peacefully. Simply. Together.

Did you know ...?

  • 1880: Approximately 30 Brethren lived in Hagerstown.
  • 1883: Hiram Wolfe led the first public Brethren worship in Hagerstown with a congregation of 12 gathered in the Junior Fire Company Hall on North Potomac Street.

Winfield Scott Reichard, who led the prayer that day, said that this was "an unpleasant place," and not many would likely attend worship in this hall, which was eventually condemned and then torn down in 1889.1
